Hurt My Head While Playing Hockey. My Ear And Jaw Hurts Badly. What Should I Do?

I hit my head fairly hard during one of my hockey games. A few minutes later i noticed that my neck and jaw hurt (felt neck pain during the head hitting the boards). I thought it would be better after i slept, but now i am feeling some ear pain as well. My neck hurts when i swallow and my jaw hurts when i move it or move my tongue around and if i move my neck too much it hurts too. What should i do?

Hello dear,

The symptoms as mentioned in your post can be attributed to musculo-skeletal injury in the jaw & neck region secondary to the head injury.
Investigation like X ray of the head & neck region will be helpful to detect any pathological cause.

Symptomatic relief can be obtained by application of ice to the affected area, intake of analgesics like Diclofenac (to be taken after food) + Pantoprazole (to be taken 30 minutes before meals) and application of analgesic & muscle relaxant gel.
You can include supplements of Calcium & Vitamin D in your diet which will help in strengthening of bones.
Physiotherapy exercise will also be helpful.

There is no need to worry, you will be fine.
Till then, maintain adequate hydration & nutrition status, take proper rest and avoid stress.

Wishing you a Good Health.
Take care.
