Hurt My Chest Landing On His Fist. Worried If It Is Something Related To Heart?

My husband was playing ball on the grass 3 days ago and fell, his chest landing on his fist. The pain has continued since in his ribs, especially when bending over from a standing position. Raising arms above head hurts as well. Today, he's complaining of aches, very tired, almost flu-like symptoms. He is anxious now, concerned he may have injured his heart. Could this be related?

Hi

Thanks for asking.

it is very unlikely to have injured heart after a fall as it is well protected behind a very solid bone in the pericardium.

His symptoms of pain while bending and movement signifies muscular injury for which he may need to take some anti inflammatory medications.

Aches and pain with flu like symptoms are probably related to a viral infection and are possibly not related to the fall.

Thanks.
