Hurt Left Eyebrow, Caused A Cut, Experiencing Sharp Stabbing Pain, Dull Headache. Concerned?

Two weeks ago, a heavy drinking glass fell out of an upper cabinet and hit me just below my left eyebrow. It caused a cut about 2 inches and 13 stitches. At the time of impact I became very nauseated. The stitches are out but I am still experiencing sharp stabbing pain in the incision that then causes a dull headache . I did not have any type of x-ray , CT scan or other tests at the time. It has been two weeks and I want to know if this is normal; do I need to see an opthamologist? Betsy in Texas

Dear user, it is quite normal to have itching and dull aching pain at and around stitch site for a month or two after stitch removal (due to associated nerve injury or healing process). it is surprising to know that no CT or X-ray were performed after such severe injury to forehead but now since it has been two weeks, possibility of any severe injury to any head structure (skull, brain, eyes) is virtually ruled out, however you may still go in for a CT head for reassurance. Consult Ophthalmologist if you are having problem in vision since injury was so close to the eyeball but chances of any damage to eyeball are also quite low at this time.
