Hurt Buttocks, Painful. Could It Be A Muscle Tear Or Bone Injury?

Hi, I fell on my butt in the bathroom yesterday. It's been hurting from then. It hurts on right side just above the butt. It hurts when I bent or kneel or when I get up from siting, it hurts a little while walking too. It's as though the muscles on my buttocks hurt but I can't be sure. Do you think it is a bone injury or just a muscle tear?

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello Ranjeetha,
Welcome at HCM.

I have read your question it looks fom your details that you may be having sacro iliac strain. The sacro iliac joint is joint at the junction of hip with spine.

You should do following to have relief in this-

-Avoid forward bending at your back.

-Do complete bed rest for at least 3-5 days.

-Do warm fomentation at affected area.

-Apply a brace like lumbo sacral belt.

-Take a good analgesic like aceclofenac & tramadol on your doctor prescription.

-Take the help of a physiotherapist.

Hope this all will help you.

With best wishes.
