How To Withdraw From Amoxicillin?

Hi, I have started 3 days ago a course of Amoxicillin after sinus graft surgery. I have very rarely taken antibiotics in my life. Now I find I have some symptoms of peripheral neuropathy, dizziness, anxiety and occasional lack of balance walking. I would like to stop taking the medication . Thank you

Hello,

Actually, it's very rare for the antibiotics to cause peripheral neuropathy especially the penicillin group of antibiotics( exceptions like isoniazid exist). Sinus surgeries, in general, can lead to a variety of symptoms like dizziness and nausea.

If you are still feeling the symptoms are necessarily due to the intake of antibiotics, you can ask your dentist to change the antibiotics, and you can as well take cephalosporins instead of amoxicillin.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shilpi Sharma
