Hello and welcome to healthcaremagic

I would keep a possibility of Tinea cruris/fungal infection of the groins. Groin folds trap sweat and thus provide an ideal environment for the fungus to proliferate.

Rather than desitin which is an anti-rash cream/soothing cream I would suggest you to use an OTC antifungal e.g clotrimazole cream, twice daily for a few days.

An OTC antihistamine e.g cetrizine 10mg once daily would provide you symptomatic relief from itching.

Once the rash resolves, an antifungal dusting powder e.g clotrimazole dusting powder would keep the area dry and prevent fungal proliferation.

General measures like bathing twice daily, wearing loose fitting cotton clothes, weight reduction are also helpful in decreasing the chances of a recurrence

Regards
