How To Treat The Ear Infection With Severe Pain And Swelling?
i have a middle ear infection for 3 weeks with severe pain and ear completely swollen inside , red and i was given rulide, followed by ciprofloxacin and pain killers now i am using otocombe otic ointment and it does not seem to get through as it is blocked and my hearing is impaired in that ear and i still have the tinnitus noise and the pressure noises all the time. the specialist i saw said that she might put some grommets as the antibiotics did not work at all. my ear condition is the same as when the infection started. pl help. tess

Yes in case of unremitting middle infection grommet may be necessary. And yet you have to continue with proper antibiotics, decongestant and anti-inflammatory medicines. You may please go for grommet insertion if required, continue proper medical management and get well.
