How To Treat Swollen Tonsil?

I am a 19 year old female and I have had on and off swollen glands and tonsils for the past year. Last year I had a tonsil infection. My tonsils are currently swollen and have white things on them. Is this tonsillitis? I also woke up this morning and went to the bathroom to see that my stool is black and had some blood in it. Are these related? should I be concerned?

If you are having recurrent episodes of sore throat associated with fever and impair cognitive function
And no associated history of gastro esophageal reflux disease and post nasal drip than tonsillectomy is indicated
As far as bleed in still is concerned it is not related to tonsillitis
But it is important to consult gastroentrologist
Thanks
