How To Treat Swollen Tonsil And Painful Throat?

Hi. My boyfriend s tonsils are swollen. The right one more than the left. They have very little white spots on them, but he said it looked like there was green stuff pouring out of the side of his right tonsil. He says that his throat hurts and it s making his right ear hurt as well.

Hello and welcome to healthcare magic forum!

The white spots on the tonsils are suggestive of follicular tonsillitis and the greenish stuff pouring out is probably due to streptococcal infection of the tonsils, this is common and is called follicular streptococcal tonsillitis.

The common causes which trigger this infection are:

Ingestion of very cold foods, low immune resistance, pollution or contracting it from an infected person, unhygienic environment.

See if he has associated symptoms of high fever with chills and also hoarse voice.
The ear pain is a reffered pain from the infection in the throat, I suggets you to take him to an ENT specialist who will treat him with proper antibiotics and at home you can suggest him to take saline gargles and steam inhalation

Wishing him full recovery!
