How To Treat Swollen Neck Along With Pain In Ear And Throat?

I went down a waterslide 2 days ago and got water up my left nostril and slammed into my left ear. I have used apple cider vinegar, Swim Ear drops and Aleve but am still in excruciating pain. My left ear is hurting, the left side of my throat hurts and my neck feels swollen. What should I do?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
hello,
i can understand your concern. it seems you have contracted an infection following the water slide. there is a connecting tube called eustachian tube because of which the infection spreads from ear to throat or vice versa.
an antibiotic like augmentin is advised for you for five days.
it is advisable to take an anti inflammatory drug like aceclofenac 200mg twice daily for five days which reduce the swelling and the pain.
do salt water gargles with luke warm water.
try this maneuver, pinch your nose and try blowing a few times, this would open up the eustachian tube if blocked. this would also relieve the pain. kindly follow the medications, you would recover soon.
do revert back for further queries. thanks for choosing HCM
