How To Treat Swelling And White Spots On Lips Caused Due To Lip Biting?

I was biting my lips and few hours later they got so swollen I have never seen them like that before, I just put ice and went to sleep the next day I woke up they were even bigger but also had a few white spots they looked like little zits I tried to take them off but it was like they were glued on my lips. My lips aren't that swollen anymore but the little white skin won't come off and my lips look kind of purple and really dry. Every time I try to take it off it starts to bleed a lot and they hurt. I don't know what to do anymore.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC...

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns...

As per your complain and presentation of symptoms you are suffering from ALLERGIC ANGIOEDEMA OF THE LIPS which is not due to lip biting and has been due to allergic reaction to either any food product or any medicine or any lip cosmetic or insect bite..
Any of these which you might be allergic to is causing fluid accumulation under the skin of the lips leading to swelling and the small blisters are also due to allergic reaction..

Nothing to worry as gradually when the effect of the allergen will wean off there will be reduction in swelling and blisters will resolve..
You should take anti-allergic medications like Cetrizine or Diphenhydramine[ benadryl] for reducing allergy symptoms..
Do cold compresses over the lips..
Do not bite or suck the lips and avoid pressing the lips..
If there is dryness of lips apply petroleum jelly or aloe vera gel..
Avoid all harsh chemical containing lip cosmetics..

Drink plenty of water to wear of the effect of allergen faster..

In case if the symptoms does not show improvement in a week or so consult a Physician and get evaluated and if required he can advise you to take injectable anti-allergics and steroids for faster relief..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards..
