How To Treat Strep Throat?

My husband just had shoulder surgery last Wednesday and came down with strep throat five days later. He is complaining that his tounge is more painful then his throat, it is splotchy white and almost bleeding. Is it just the infection spreading? He isn't on antibiotics. Could it be something else?

Hi thanks for contacting health care magic.

You have strep positive and painful throat .....
Suggesting acute pharyngitis like infection.

Start amoxyclav antibiotic taken for 5 days....
Drink more water....
Excess spicy food and fried food restricted .....
Salt water gargle done.
If congestion present antihistaminic drug given.....
Rest taken...
Steam inhalation also useful if congestion present ...

Here if white oral thrush present it could be candidiasis....
For that antifungal drug given...

Consult Ent surgeon for examination....
