How To Treat Stomach Pain And Frequent Vomiting?

Hello Doctor...my daughter Leah is 3 years and 3 months old. Her birth weight was 3.2Kgs and now she is 11~12kgs. Her height is normal for her age. She is very fussy about food. Her normal meal takes about 1 hour. She was a colic Kid earlier, as she used to have frequent stomach pains..and she also used to puke once a day. once she started growing old...her puking frequency came to once in a 3 days and complains of stomach pains. We had consulted several doc and they say she s fine. One of the doctors said to completely stop milk and observe. We have been observing her for a month and found she never did..but lately for about 4 days now, she has started puking again. Kindly advice as to whether this has any serious causes to it.

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Her weight and height seem normal for the age so no need to worry for any serious illnesses. there are two possibilities.
1. Food intolerance can cause episodic vomiting and abdominal pain.
2. Acidity due to altered food pattern. a course of anti-ulcer drugs like lansoprazole can cure this problem. Also, remember to deworm the child every 6 months.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Rajmohan, Pediatrician
