How To Treat Stiffness Around Shoulders, neck And Arms?

Hi, I am Renganath writing from Chennai. My work involves prolonged use of computers. I have been facing stiffness all around my shoulder, neck and arms when I get up in the morning and this gets better when I start exercising for sometime. I am unable to identify the location of the pain. But, it is excruciating at times on the back of the shoulder. Is it something to do with Rheumatism or any other orthopaedic disorders? Whom should I consult first? Appreciate your response.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to rheumatoid arthritis. I recommend to check the rheumatoid factor level for further evaluation. Meanwhile, I suggest using anti inflammatory medications such as Acetaminophen to relieve the pain and inflammation.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
