How To Treat Sore Bumps On Tongue?

My tounge is sore bumps on the side. Hurts to eat or drink. Moving the tounge at all hurts. No white bumps.. Like thrash. I have used proxide as a mouth wash. What am I to do with this? I have had it a week while on vacation. Thank you. Shelia Carr

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your health concerns. ..

As per your complain and presentation of symptoms you are suffering from APTHOUS ULCERS or CANKER SORES which are painful ulcers and occur commonly on tongue while can involve other mucosal surfaces also like inner lips, cheeks, gums , palate etc..
You need not to worry and can do warm saline gargles..
Gargle with 1:1 solution of milk of magnesia and Benadryl liquid will also help..
Apply numbing gel like Oragel over the sores wi relive discomfort especially during eating..
Apply Steroid based Oral paste like Kenalog in Orabase over sores to reduce inflammation which will eventually reduce pain..
Sucking ice pops also reduce inflammation..
For pain OTC painkillers like Ibuprofen (Advil or Motrin) or Tylenol can also be taken..
Avoid spicy food..
Take a multivitamin tablet like Zincovit for 15 days..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards..
