How To Treat Skin Cancer?

Hello my name is Marija i have just rtd. From ha ving 10stitches removed from tne skin over my sternum .the doctor said that the skin cancer was a mole which was borderline melonoma but not to worry as he removed it with a reasonablle border,should i be worried?

As per your doctor the melanoma was excised with a reasonable border. He must have sent the excised tissue for histopathology which will confirm the clearance from the margins.I addition he must have got special stains like HMB 45 and MART 1 to confirm the diagnosis. You can ask him about these facts> In addition he must have advised you photoprotection measures which you should stringently follow. You should also keep a self check on any suspicious pigmented lesions specially if there is a change in size, colour or border or there is a erosion or ulcer developing over the lesion.any doubtful lesion should be subjected to dermatoscopy.
