How To Treat Shin Injury?

I hit my shin against a tool box and now there s a bruise about 6-7 inches high by about 4 inches wide. It has swelled up quite a bit and is located more toward the inside of my shin. Is this normal or should I get my leg X-rayed? Also I can still walk on it.

Hi,

An X-ray will be good on a safer side to look out for any bony pathology. Usually it might be a hairline fracture or a fasica injury. Doing hot water fermentation, exercise like - static Quadriceps, static hamstring, ankle toe movements, straight leg raise etc should help improve the overall strength in the lower limb and reduce the pain.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
