How To Treat Severe Knee Injury?

I went hiking and fell and hit the side of my knee on a sharp rock. I've been icing it but the pain is getting worse and worse to the point of not being able to walk normal. There's minimal bruising and minimal swelling. Should I see the dr or tough it out. Is there a chance I tore or broke anything?
