How To Treat Severe Itchy Rashes On The Body Caused After Taking Ampicillin?
I have a sever total body rash which is from taking Ampesilin and is extremely itchy. I have tried bathing in a baking powder solution, and tried Cortzone 10, but only received temporary relief. Is there any prescription medication I can get from my personal Dr. that will stop the itching.
hi there. 1. your concern may be acute urtricaria, secondary to ampicillin antibiotic. 2. you can try 20mg of cortzone tab bed time along with alaspan 10mg during day time. 3. try linical lotion for soothing. 4. if symptoms won't subside in couple of days, then plan for short course of medicated oral steroids after consulting a dermatologist near by you. 5. be cautious regarding penicillin group of antibiotics in the future, never give a trial and inform prior to any doctor whom you consult in the future for any purpose. this may help you.
