How To Treat Red Rash On Sides Of Labia?

Very red rash on 23 month old labia on both sides. I ve used desitin she is pulling at her diaper and I m sure it s sore. She did say hot. Any ideas what to use. I m thinking of taking her outside without a diaper in my back yard. Hoping the warm sun and no diaper would help. ( my yard is pretty private ..... Any idea what else to use ?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi
Thank you for asking HCM.
I have gone through your query. Your problem can be most likely from allergic reaction to diaper. If you send a picture then it will be more helpful in identifying. Avoid diaper completely till it disappear. You can use hypo allergic diaper after that. Wash the area with warm water and keep open as much as possible. Avoid soaps and irritants to wash the area also. You can apply calamin lotion for locally also. Antihistamines will be needed in case of itching or if rash is more.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if any thing not clear.
Thanks.
