How To Treat Post-menopausal Depression?

I am 51 and am post-menaposal, I had hysterectomy 15 days ago - laparoscopically with robot. My doctor gave me a new hormone with drastically less estrogen, which after 9 days I slid unto severe depression. I have always been prone to depression and I take an antidepressant, Remeron. Doctor gave me a new hormone with estrogen at the same level I was getting prior to surgery and after three days I do feel like I may live. Questions I have are: 1. Will this level of estrogen be enough to maintain my sanity? Surely I was getting some from ovaries before their removal! and 2. I am not getting any progesterone now, can I maintain my sanity without this hormone?

Hello,
LOW dose estrogen shall suffice and as hysterectomy has been done , so progesterone is not required at all.
