hello
the differentials in this age group include rectal polyp or rectal prolapse. polyp only presents with a swelling felt , constipation and bleeding whereas prolapse presents as something coming out of anus . nevertheless both need proctoscopy (a procedure to look into the anal canal, which is done under local anesthesia or general anesthesia if child is non cooperative) . and ultimate treatment for both is surgically removal of polyp or taking a suture in the rectal mucosa . so you have to consult a surgeon , a pediatric surgeon more appropriately . meanwhile give the patient laxative syrup like lactulose and more fiber diet like vegetables and fruits. have a nice day. thanks
