Physical Therapist or Physiotherapist 's  Response
Disc slip pain

Im dr.hema physiotherapist.

Disc prolapse or slip is not uncommon and if the symptoms are not much serious conservative management plays great role to move with the condition as it does not helps to come out from source of pain that is slip disc.the medications and physiotherapy helps to reduce pain and not act on disc.
Surgery is not required in most cases and depends on severity.the pain disappear within a few weeks, recur from time to time, or frequently persist for years when there is more stress.

So ergonomics and change in life style modification helps to prevent episodes of illness.

You can discuss with your dr immediately to start with physiotherapy management which gives very good results for pain and uneasiness, also helps maintain your muscles in good condition.

Physiotherapy management involves

For pain-modalities(ultrasound, ift, traction. ), helps to relax muscles and ligament and thus reduces pain.

Range of motion, ,stretching and strengthening exercises will be educated by your physical therapist for prevention and strengthening purpose.

Precautions
1.take proper rest everyday
2.back care (maintain posture, bend with ur knee, dont lift heavy weights, relax muscles by hot water fomentation, use diclofinac gel and prevent aggregating)
3.if you are travelling lot and in rough road u can use lumbar corset after discussing with your dr, that supports back.
4.once pain is reduced your physical therapist can teach exercises, that has to be done atleast 4 times a day.
5.avoid bending activities and over extension of back.

Hope the information is useful.
