How To Treat Nose Bleeding In Children Post Mild Head Injury?

Hi. My 8 month old had pulled himself up beside a kitchen stool. He and the stool fell backwards and he hit his head on the hard wood floor. As far as I can tell, nothing hit his face, but he has a bloody nose. Should I wait it out or take him to the ER. He is currently acting fine.

Thanks for asking in healthcaremagic forum
I understand your concern. If the fall/hit is mild and there are no other symptoms except nasal bleeding then you may stop bleeding by just pinching your child's nose with his mouth open.
It may be difficult as 8 month old baby may not co-operate and open mouth, so its better you visit a doctor immediately if bleeding still persists. If not it will subside by itself after some time and you need to just wash it with water.
All the best.
