How To Treat Nodules In The Ovary?

hello, I am a 29 year old female gravida 3 para 3 who has been having a range of symptoms of abdominal fullness, pain and discomfort for months. I have always had heavy painful menstrual periods with clots. Over the last few months my period has become irregular and I spot more then a usual flow. Recent ultrasound found a 2 cm solid nodule to left ovary as well as a prominent 2cm endometrium. What should the next follow up be? And what could I be looking at in regards to diagnosis?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Consult a gynaecologist and get evaluated. Most probably it will be benign (non-cancerous) cyst like a chocolate cyst. A detailed evaluation is required.

If the diagnosis is not clear, a laparoscopic examination might be required.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
