Hello and welcome to HCM, Migraine is a type of headache accompanied by aura. It cannot be eliminated but can be manged. Drugs are aimed at reducing the pain during attacks of migraine and to reduce the frequency of episodes of migraine. The drugs used to manage migraine are pain killers like anti-inflammatory drugs and tryptans. The choice of drug depends on severity of symptoms and tolerance of drug. Patients who are not responsive to anti-inflammatory drugs may be given opoids to reduce pain. Another set of drugs is used to reduce the frequency of drug dosage. Thus, you need to consult your physician for clinical assessment and prescription of drugs suitable for you. Appropriate drugs will help to reduce the symptoms to minimum.
