Is it possible to correct a metacarpal malrotation over time with a brace, i.e. as with dental braces, without surgery? My left ring finger tends to cross over the middle finger. I suffered a simple( hairline) fracture of the fourth? metacarpal years ago by jamming the finger. Not sure if the condition is caused by ligament damage or the failure of the bone to heal properly. Similar, by not nearly as severe, problem with the right hand.I was wondering whether the problem could be corrected over several months with a brace worn at night, or something similar, without re-breaking the bone.
