Hello,

Don't worry, many causes for patella abnormal tracking like muscle imbalance or joint problems or bursitis etc. It is treated with rest or reduced activity level, stretching and strengthening exercises, flexible knee braces, taping, proper footwear, weight loss over-the counter pain relievers (Ibuprofen, Acetaminophen, Aspirin), if you tolerate them well. Physical exercise may also useful. Still no improvement with above treatment you may get it done arthroscopic repair of the patellofemoral ligament.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
