How To Treat Itchy Red Bumps On Buttocks Inspite Of Using Cortisone And Desitin?

I have a red bump on my buttock that s itching like crazy. My husband looked at it and it s pink small and looks like a hive. Something has bitten me and I would like to know what I can use to stop the itching. I tried cortisone 10 that didn t work then I tried Desitin that helped but this morning it started in again. Even put hot pack on it that helped.

Hi,

You are suffering from allergic reaction due to insect bite. Anti-histamines and steroids in injectable form can be used. The bump has to be examined to rule out any pus or fluid collection. Antibiotics may be required in such cases. In case of throat pain, difficulty in swallowing or breathing, immediately contact your physician since it could be a severe and fatal anaphylactic reaction.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
