hi i am 20yr old and i hav hearing loss and tinnitus in my right ear my doctor after an pure tone audiometric test said that hearing loss is 73% and its due to infection in inner ear and had very much less to do with that prob and gave me some medicines to use i hav been using this medicines since 1 month nw i am getting pain in my left ear also i heard that infection in one ear effects other ear also is that true what should i do now?
Middle ear infection may cause fluid accumulation or tympanic membrane ruptured or hearing loss. Yes it is possible that it may spread to other ear also. Use antibiotics to control infection. In case of no improvement may need drainage of infectious focus. Avoid allergic food and cool drinks that aggregate the problem. Please follow with your ENT specialist he will examine and treat you accordingly.
