How To Treat Headache After An Injury Due To Fainting?

Last night I fainted for no reason. I hit my head onto a chair, and then onto the floor. I jerked my head backwards to hard, and now my neck is hurting. I have a huge bump across my forehead with a couple of bruises going down my face. I have slept all day long, and it still feels like I haven't slept at all. The doctors gave me some medicine that was suppose to help the pain go away, but it still hurts. I've been having headaches and they won't go away, and get worse the longer I stay awake . What could it be? How can I make the hurting on my head go away?

Hello!

Welcome on HCM!

Your symptoms seem to be related to head concussion. It is very common for the headache to persist for days and even months after a head concussion.

I would recommend having some rest and starting melatonine 5mg to help regulate your sleep. As your headaches get worse from the lack of sleep, regulating your sleep will help.

Using painkillers is also necessary for a couple of weeks.

If the headache persists and does not improve, I would recommend performing a brain CT scan to exclude a delayed intracranial bleeding.

Hope to have been helpful!

Kind regards, Dr. Aida
