How To Treat Head Injury?

My seven year old daugher fell and hit back of her head on table. She has a lump on back of her head and it hurts her when i touch it. She has a mild headache but everything else seems normal. When she jumps or runs it hurts her, otherwise seems normal.

Hi there,
I am Dr. Deepak, I work In Emergency Department. I come across many Head injury patient in children. Its good to see that you are taking such a good care of your daughter.
Your seven year old daughter had a fall and hit her self on the back of her head on the table. she has a lump on the back of her head and it pain when you touch.
I feel she has a minor head injury. As she is absolutely fine now, except for the pain. She is playing around and doing her routine activities. You can allow her to sleep if she wants to sleep.
You can apply ice packs over the bump and give some pain killer orally.
You just need to keep a watch on few thing.
1. If she is having vomiting 2-3 times.
2. If she is complaining of head ache even after taking pain killer.
3. If she is moving one side of her body more then other.
4. If she appears too much drowsy, sleepy a lot, that is more then usual.
If any of the following thing is there, then it would better that you see a doctor
Thank you
Hope that your daughter recovers soon.
