Hi, my son is blind due to an injury in the military. During last 5 years he's had Alot of trouble with mucus in his eyes. But 2 months ago he started having copious amounts of mucus/pus/ yellow usually n sometimes light green. I'm an RN n we have diligently irrigated his eyes, esp L, 4 or more times a day n the VA put him on Poly Trim aid. It started getting worse about a week ago n went back n they changed him to a steroid ointment with Neosporin. Said it was hemorrhagic strep. He is no better since new treatment of 4 days. I will call n take him back but why won't this clear up? It's horrible for him n I'm worn out. It is still copious mucus with chunks of yellow ups n strings of it every couple of hours. He is washing with baby shampoo n cotton balls frequently. Is this treatment correct?
