How To Treat Feeling Of Residual Food Left Post Swallowing,sore Throat,and Tight Feeling Around Neck?

Hi I have some residual food left after after swallowing( revealed on a moderate barium swallow) I also get a swore throat and a very tight feeling around my neck any ideas what might be causing this I should add I had my Lingual tonsils removed just before this sensation started

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have residual food left post swallowing,sore throat,and tight feeling around neck. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like strep throat , viral pharyngitis or psychological feeling of stuck feeling due to swelling . I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper examination . Doctor may order CT scan of neck along with examination with laryngoscope . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics along with anti inflammatory or may recommend removal of foreign body with minor surgical procedure under local anesthesia .
