How To Treat Esophagus Burns?

Burned my Esophagus Hey, I burned my esophagus with hot food and it hurts really bad when I eat, it's been a few minutes now and the pain has not dulled, I popped a few tylenol in to soothe the pain but it hasn't gotten to work yet, and now my food is having a hard time staying down. I drink cold water to soothe the pain in my middle abdomen, is that the right thing to do? What do you think my next course of action should be?

Hi,
Welcome to Healthcaremagic.com.

I had gone through your question I can understand your concern about your esophageal burn.

As per your history it seems to me that you are having esophageal burn.

Take only liquid and semi solid foods to prevent any more damage to the burn.

Avoid non steroidal anti inflammatory drugs or pain killers.

Take proton pump inhibitors) Ike the pantoprazole 40 mg empty stomach in morning once daily for next few days.

Avoid late night meals, alcohol, junk foods as well as spicy foods for next few days.

Hope my answer will help you and visit us back if you have any questions further.

Regards
Dr Muzaffer Hussain Parray.
