How To Treat Ear Pain While Having Cold And Flu?

Hi I have had a cold and flu for a few days now (since Saturday) I am getting over the worst but last night I had awful ear pain so I took paracetamol and it got a bit better, it doesn't really hurt anymore but it keeps popping and echoing.. so I my voice and other people's voices are echoed if they talk loudly.
