Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
HAve had daily diareah for the past 2 months. No pain ...just an urge to go ...sometimes after eating, sometimes not. HAve tracked what I eat.....nothing consistent that causes the issue. Usually happens after lunch. I can drink anything without incident. Bread/crackers do not trigger an incident .I can drink anything without incident. HAve had a stool check..came back ok.This began after I Recovered from a bad coughing cold that gave me a fractured 6th rib....My Doc, thought a reaction to the amoxicillin I was on.....but that has been ruled out. I have little appetite but eat a good healthy dinner every nite without incident.
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted your history of inconsistent diarrhea, which may or not be related to the foods. Started after a bout of cough and fractured rib and the Doctor thought it may be related to Amoxicillin. Stool tests is OK. Hence I would advise you the following: - Get a colonoscopy and other blood tests particularly to rule out diabetes and thyroid functions to watch for hyperthyroidism. If all the investigation are normal, this can be taken as IBS, meaning irritable bowel syndrome. Get treated accordingly. It is possible that probiotics and activated charcoal be of help.
