How To Treat Dark Spots Under The Neck?

Hi Doctor, I am a 29 year old female, I have spent thousands of dollars trying to remove these very dark spots under my neck , due to shaving the hairs. Over the years the dark spots have spreaded now taking up the entire neck area. Do you have any suggestions?

I can understand your concern regarding dark spots over neck.
From the history and description, I can think of either pigmentation post minor trauma due to shaving or it could be pityriasis versicolor, a superficial skin infection caused by a fungus.
The treatment of these two conditions is very diverse and thus its better to diagnose the right condition before starting the treatment.
