How To Treat Coccyx Pain After Being Diagnosed For Oedema Around Coccyx?

I had an MRI that showed soft tissue thickening and oedema around the tip of the coccyx. Also found serpiginous fluid signal mass lying in front of the rectom but separate to it, measuring 7cm across. It is thought to represent a hydrosalpinx. I have been suffering coccyx pain for the last six months. Can you please tell me what the treatment is for the results found on the MRI today. I am a 51 year old female.

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The edema and pain around coccyx can be due to inflammation or a local injury. Proper rest, pain killers, hot compress and local steroid injections can help in the healing.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Praveen Tayal, Orthopaedic Surgeon
