How To Treat Bad Cough?

My daughter has had this bad productive cough for around 5-6 weeks now, has taken her to a doctor and her chest is clear and they think that it is only post viral. Now I have developed a productive cough (yellow phlegm) and have lost some of my voice. Am I infective? And how do I get my voice back?

Thanks for your query, I have gone through your query.
The most common cause of acute cough is due to viral or bacterial infections.
It would be better to get examined and evaluated by a Physician as you might need a course of Antibiotics depending upon the cause and a chest X-ray and few routine Blood tests might be required.

Meanwhile you can follow these suggestions:
Take steam inhalation thrice a day after adding "Karvol Plus" capsules in water. Make a syrup by adding 1 tbsp each of ginger paste, pepper powder and 2 tbsp of honey and take this 3 times a day.
Bromhexine HCl, Guaiphenesin, Phenylephrine HCl, Chlorpheniramine Maleate, Paracetamol. This medication is an expectorant, prescribed for chest congestion. It promotes lower respiratory tract drainage by thinning the mucus in the air passages to make it easier to cough up the mucus and clear the airways

I hope I have answered your query, take care.
