How To Treat Ankle Sprain?
I suffered an ankle sprain 3 weeks ago and its still painful and swollen and my toes tend to go numb. My doctor called with the results from my MRI and said nothing was torn and I just had a severe sprain. She suggested placing me in a cast. What does this mean?

Hello,
Your MRI doesn't suggest any tear or tendon damage as per mentioned history. So surgical correction is not needed.
You are having pain due to minor muscle strain. The movement can worsen pain in strain.
So for immobilization, you can be applied plaster cast.
