Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have an infected sebaceous cyst just below my knee cap. It has been cut open and drained twice. There is still puss there. It is being cleaned and packed daily. The doctor is now saying it need to be surgically removed? How do they do this? It has been there and infected and inflamed for over a month now..
sebaceous cyst first treats the infection. It is recurrent if not fully removed. We have to remove full cyst capsule. If some capsule bit left in the wound again it will grow.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr C.ELANCHEZHIAN, General & Family Physician
