How to treat acid reflux?

Hello, Ive been suffering from acid reflux for a couple of months now, I trigger is once I wake up and drink water, If I wait for a couple of hours after I wake up, the heartburn will be less effective for the day. Ive been taking all sorts of medication, and nothing seems to help.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Lifestyle changes need to go along with the medication.

These changes include: (1) using small meals instead of large meals

(2)eliminating citrus fruits, spicy foods, reducing use of onions, tomatoes, mints, chocolate, caffeine

(3)waiting at least 2 hours after eating before laying down

(4)weight loss of any excess weight

If you have already started lifestyle changes and the symptoms are still continuing then you may need to consider testing eg endoscopy and tests for h pylori bacteria.

I hope this helps
