How To Treat A Slammed Left Index Finger Resulting To A Clot?
I slammed my left index finger between the 1st knuckle and cuticle Thursday AM while trying to close a sticky window. I ve iced it many times but it s still sensitive, swollen and the nail is 1/3rd black and blue. My question is what are the risks of a clot and it moving. Should I just ride it out, put a pin hole in the cuticle to release the pressure or seek professional medical attention? Thanks, Jeff.
I am so sorry to hear about this accident. Do no such thing as putting a hole on it. I will recommend that you continue to put ice packs on it as well as take some pain medications to control the symptoms. If the pains fail to subside significantly within 24hours, seek medical attention. The clot would not disappear anytime soon and you should be aware of it so as not to be too worried.
I hope this helps. I your daughter well.
