I had my gall bladder removed and they now found cyst on my pancreas that is 1.5 cm. They said it was in a difficult place to remove and I am quite upset. I am worried that it could become cancerous and can not sleep at night. I did have a gall bladder issue which took them a while to diagnose and were treating me for acid reflux which I don t have. I still have attacks but not sure what they are. The pain is unbearable and I just want to die when they hit.
Pancreatic cysts are balloon like packets filled with fluid. Most of pancreatic cysts do not cause any symptom and are just incidental finding while testing for some other condition. Most of the pancreatic cysts are not cancerous and very few are cancerous or pre-cancerous. Still a close monitoring is necessary for any change by regular follow up, regular imaging and also biopsy, if needed. As you are having symptoms of pain, you are advised a regular follow up. Also, your symptoms may be related to your anxiety about it. Still you need a watch on it for any changes related to malignancy.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
