How To Treat A Large Lump Leading To Swelling And Redness Caused After Injecting Meth?
I have a large lump from injecting crystal meth where I missed the vein. that was 9 days ago. it is located in the bend of my elbow. it is very tender, red, swollen, and hot to the touch. I have applied ice to the site which takes some of the swelling down but once the ice is removed the swelling comes back. is there any way I can treat this on my own
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. Large lump with redness and hot to touch at injection site indicates injection abscess. You need to treat it first with a course of antibiotics containing Amoxacillin and Clavulenic acid. Also you need to take along with it analgesicDiclofenac with Serratiopeptidase combination. Once the pain and swelling subsides, the abscess needs to be drained under aseptic care. It may need a few days of dressing, depending on the way it is drained. Kindly consult Surgeon in this regard for appropriate management. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
