How To Treat A Large Blood Clot On Stomach?

A week ago I suffered a massive hematoma across my stomach from the seat belt during a car accident. A+E sent me home with painkillers. Today I saw a doctors who explained the hard lump I could feel right across my stomach was in fact a very large blood clot which will disperse over time. How long will this take please?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi, I am of the opinion that you need not worry about it right now.
If were your treating doctor then i would advice
1) Take adequate rest, as this process will take about 2to 3 weeks to completely resolve, depending upon the size of hematoma.
2) Take as usual diet with more fruit and green leafy vegetables, which would help to fasten the process.
3) If fever occurs, then consult your physician immediately, as this would suggest infection. Till then need not worry.
Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help
