How To Treat A Growing Blackhead On Upper Shoulder?

I have what startes out to be a blackhead on on my upper shoulder blade. It was a tiny black flat hole. My husband attempted quite some time ago to squeeze it out. Well, he did get something to come out of it each time. But it began to swell so i made him just leave it alone. So over time it grew. It became what appears to be a knot with a little black hole still. Today, i noticed it has grown even more and its very sore. There is a red spot there as well but not directly on the original site of the knot but right at it. It has never been sore and it has been since around the summer of 2015 since ive attemped to squeeze. Can you give me an idea of what it could possibly be? I do plan to go to see my doctor about it but im just so curious about it.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have growing blackhead on upper shoulder Which can be due to hormonal change occurs at particular age and this condition is recurrent. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to wash your the area with body wash containing benzoyl peroxide then apply cream containing azelaic acid which is safe and very effective. Eat fresh fruits and vegetables also drink plenty of water. Apply vitamin E before going to bed to fine texture of skin. For inflammatory acne you should start with one of the oral antibiotics like Azithromycin or Minocycline. If condition doesn't get better in a month then consult dermatologist for proper diagnosis and treatment. Doctor may prescribe retinoid ointment and antibiotic like clindamycin. Doctor may also excise it if there is infected site .

Hope your concern has been resolved.
