I have a bump in my right forearm that sometimes causes me pain. i noticed it about 3 months ago and sometimes it seems to be better than others, but always comes back. I ve tried to massage it out, iced it, and used epson salt on it without much luck. what could it be? i dont have insurance and would like to treat it at home if possible.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to a foruncle which is an infection of the hair follicle.

I suggest using hydrogen peroxide to clean the area. I also suggest to cover the area with Neosporin cream and use anti-inflammatory medications such as Acetaminophen to relieve the pain.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
