How To Test If Abortion Is Successfully Complete?

Dear Doctor, I m 26 years old, my period were should to be on 30 August, but it was delayed, I did a home test on 5 September and it was positive, I wanted to terminate pregnancy I took 6 tabs of Misoprostol Ziotec 200, after 8 hours there were bleeding but not heavily as I read, and it s not so little either. I did a home test after 3 days and the result was positive. I am so worry is the abortion incomplete, or the pregnancy hormones take longer time to leave the body ? Or I used the pills wrongly ?Thank you.

Thanks for writing to HCM.
Abortion with pills can be undertaken if the pregnancy is less than 12 weeks. It is better to use combined pill of mifepristone and misoprostol for successful abortion. It should be always done under medical supervision.
Since you have taken Misoprostol and had bleeding, abortion should have taken place.
To confirm weather all the products of conception has been expelled or not, you need to get ultrasound scan of pelvis done.
Blood and urine beta-HCG levels gradually decrease. It would decrease by 50% in the next 24 hours following abortion.
Kindly consult Gynecologist with the scan report for proper opinion in this regard.
